Collaboration & CA MTSS - Teacher Pathway [Watch & Reflect]

Various Expertise and Perspectives Benefit Everyone 

When all stakeholders share their various expertise and perspectives, everyone benefits. Educators enhance their skills as practitioners to effectively plan and implement instruction and services that benefit ALL students. 

Revisiting the CA MTSS Framework reminds us that collaboration is built into every domain of the framework. It is essential for building and maintaining an effective CA MTSS.

The following videos will provide more information on Instruction HLPs:

• HLP1 -  Collaborate with professionals to increase student success. 
  • Watching with a Purpose: While you watch, think about ways you can increase collaboration with school counselors, school psychologists, paraeducators, and support staff in order to improve student outcomes. 

 

• HLP3 - Collaborate with families to support student learning and secure needed services.
  • Watching with a Purpose: While you watch, reflect on the CA MTSS domain Family & Community Engagement and consider how you can enhance opportunities to:
    • engage with students and families
    • provide engagement opportunities
    • facilitate home-school communication
    • engage with the community
    • maintain an open door policy
    • invite community members to serve

 

Reflect 

• Review each of the domains of the CA MTSS Framework. How does collaboration fit within each domain?
• How can utilizing the Collaboration HLPs ( HLP1, HLP2, HLP3) improve student outcomes?
