Evaluate your Current Universal Supports

Review ASCA's Mindsets and Behaviors standards Links to an external site. and the  Links to an external site.NOSCA 8 Components of College and Career Readiness Counseling components  Links to an external site.in order to complete the following activity and evaluate the universal support your LEA and/or school counseling team offers to ALL students. 

Align universal supports to ASCA standards and NOSCA components (Alludo Activity)

1. 1. Utilizing the Fillable Continuum of Support you developed in Continuum of Support [BADGE Activity] review the curriculum, resources, activities, and/or tools you listed as universal support for ALL.
   2. Transfer the information listed under the Fillable Continuum of Support template under ALL students to this Universal Schoolwide Programs and Activities template 
   3. List the ASCA's Mindsets and Behaviors standard(s) and/or NOSCA 8 Components of College and Career Readiness Counseling components that fit within the curriculum, resources, activities, and/or tools listed. 

Example:

• • All students receive academic, career/college readiness, social-emotional counseling (M4, NOSCA C.1, C.2)
    • • For this example, it might be easier for the individual school counselor or team to list the specific universal supports provided to all students and then write the corresponding standard and/or component in parenthesis

The idea is to assess the universal supports you and your team provide to ALL students; both at the Universal Level of the CA MTSS Framework and the MTMDSS Continuum of Supports. 

This activity builds upon the continuum of support template you created during Mission 1. The intention of this activity is to reflect on the items placed on the continuum of support document and determine which Mindsets and Behaviors Standards and/or the NOSCA Components each item meets.

Materials needed for this activity:

• • Previously completed Fillable Continuum of Support from Continuum of Support [Activity]
  • New: Universal Schoolwide Programs and Activities [note: document will be used for future activities]

Respond to the following:

• • Complete the Universal Schoolwide Programs and Activities template
  • Place the Mindsets and Behaviors Standards and/or the NOSCA Components in parenthesis behind the activity, resource, curriculum (See example above)
  • Include a minimum of 5 universal supports
